Pizza Night and Learning to cook

Daddy only had to work for a few hours on Friday so he was home really early and we loved all the extra time we got to spend with him. So For dinner tonight we made homemade pizza. we made a classic pepperoni pizza and then we tried a new pizza...four cheese pizza with a tomato salad as a topping and a pesto sauce. both pizza's came out amazing and we all loved them.
As this girl gets older she is becoming more and more fun! tonight she was quite the help in the kitchen

 Decorating the pizza with pepperoni

Daddy helped out with the eating before the pizza was even cooked
 the finished products...they were delicious

our science experiment

For our last week of home preschool I decided to focus on plants and growth.I'm not sure how excited Madison is because she doesn't really show tons of excitement or explain her feelings really well yet but she was totally into getting to grow some beans as her science experiment so here's to hoping it only gets better this week

My little man was also totally into growing his beans and starting his own baggie
In the window and ready for them to start growing

A saturday at the splash pad

It has been Crazy hot around here and I haven't talked to my best friend in almost 2 weeks so we decided to meet up at the splash pad and let the kids play while we catch up. Caleb was into it a little but not a tons but Madison was very active and very involved in playing in the splash pad. It was fun to watch her engage and play without me begging her or another child forcing her to play with them.

Letter of the week field trip...I is for Ice Cream

we made a quick run to walmart one morning and it turned out to be a not so quick run and did I mention it was insanely hot that day. Like over 100 degrees hot! the kids were getting frustrated and we had major problems at the register which caused us to stand there while the manager ran around like a chicken with his head cut off for almost 30 minutes. by the time it was all over both kids were at their witz end and to be honest so were me and Anthony. so we decided that on the way home we would stop for a treat for the kids (and the adults) on the way home. Ice cream was a great motivator to keep the munchkins motivated to be good while we were in the store.

They had a ball eating their ice cream and we got a little hose action to get them cleaned off at the end. Caleb was my favorite since he has never had ice cream he wasn't quite sure what to do with it at first. after i showed him a few times what mommy did he was all in face first. he ate more of the ice cream (and no lunch oops). madison ate about half before she got board and went to play with her scooter outside. It was a quick and fun ice cream trip and the kids loved it.

Letter of the week field trip - J is for Jump

Our letter of the week last week was J but there are only deals for jumping at sky high in Ontario for kids on Monday's so we waited and paid half price and because its made specifically for kids "mommy" was FREE which I think is amazing!
She was totally smitten from the moment we walked in!

For the very first time Madison was able to jump on a trampoline without holding onto something and she didnt fall on the first jump and she actually got up into the air! I love watching her grow and gain new skills its truly a blessing after all she has overcome!

just a little dodgeball with several boys and she held her own really well

they weren't going to let Caleb jump but he threw such a tantrum that in order to quite him down they gave him a band and I signed a waiver and he was off! this boy knows what he wants, that he wants it, and that a tantrum in public will almost always get him what he wants.

Making play doh

Making play doh is one of my favorite things. Its such an easy process, the finished product is 100x better than the bought stuff, and Madison gets to jump in with me and she can pretty much do most of the process herself!

Miss Cheesy is measuring out the ingredients for our home made play doh

adding the wet ingredients to the dry...love her intense face here
Stirring all the play doh together without the heat

Very Proud of her finished product!

This was a ton of fun to do with her. she's becoming quite the little helper in the kitchen.

Teacher Appreciation 2014

This girl participated in her very first teacher appreciation! sadly we invited all 4 of her teachers but none of them could make it. She got up on the stage and participated in all the songs and everything! I'm so proud of her. A year ago she wouldn't have left my side and this year she got up on that stage all by herself, stood in the front, and attempted to do the hand signals that were taught to her.

they put together this cute hands theme for the teachers.

Even the food was themed with hands...everything was a finger food.

this is the letter and the picture that Madison made for her teacher this year
A fun little tid bit...my cousin who is a 6th grade teacher at OPA was invited by her student and as you can see on Madison's face she was pretty excited to see her.
