Anthony's 2nd company party

This weekend we attended Anthony's Company Party for the second year in a row. last year was a little awkward considering during the company party Anthony had only been with the company a total of 20 days 7 of which he was on his honeymoon in Hawaii. so this year was a lot more fun. we were able to really get out there and have a good time especially getting to know all the people i hear about each and everyday after he works. the company has a baseball game every year between the guys who work in the warehouse and the Sales team for the company and last year we got whooped bad. but this year we took revenge with a score of 13 to 6!!! had a ball watching all the kids and hanging out with other wives. all in all it was a fun filled day.

We were learning how to deal with difficult patients. Danny defiantly qualifies. next we were learning how to teach patients with injuries requiring assistive devices how to use those assistive devices.

Sweety School Work

OK so let me tell you, I feel sorry for my wife, she works her butt of at school and at home. I wish I could help a little more. She goes to school for about 8 hrs, then she comes home and does homework until she cant wright or type anymore. But with a little sacrifice comes with a good, wait scratch that, a great job. She is strong though, and i cant come home from work and say something hurts cause she would tell me what hurts on her. but me being me, she tells me her feet hurt, i would take a few minutes to rub and softly touch them, if it is her hands, i would do the same, take a few minutes to rub. her back, well it takes a longer then a few minutes for that, but it makes her feel better and able to concentrate a little better.

the things we do for each other, I love her so much, i would walk to the ends of the earth or climb the highest mountain for her, because i love her soo much

Saturday Moning

Well, this Saturday is the first Saturday in the past 3 weeks or so that we were able to sleep in (oh so good to sleep in), and then get somethings done = started the laundry b4 it got too hot to do anything (which by the way, so grateful that the temp is cooling down). Also was able to eat breakfast at the dining table instead of on the run (I Love it when i sit with my wife and enjoy a good old bowl of cereal. I LOVE YOU SWEETY). And was able to clean the house, which by the way, it goes a lot faster with 2 people. And now we are just relaxing waiting for the last load to finish and then it is off to Winco for the weekly groceries. And then after all that, we are done and free for the rest of day to do what ever we feel would be good.

This is Anthony saying
Have a nice day

Nursing: UPDATE

This week we started a new class musculoskeletal. Mrs. Metoyer is teaching it. i feel a little more free in this class but i think from now on im just going to keep my mouth shut. im better off it seems like. so since we started this new class we are now juggling three classes at one. integumentry, respiratory, and musculo. we have a final for integ on thursday and im not convinced im ready but im going to spend all of tuesday and wednesday studying and getting ready for it. the teacher was nice enough to provide us with a study guide i am greatful for that cuz im not sure i would know where to start studying to be prepared. our respiratory case study which i have been working on for like 4 weeks is due on wednesday. im almost done im working on some things i dont quite understand but they all seem like little loose ends the bulk of the project is done. i have worked hard on it and it has taught me alot especially about critical thinking and taking care of the patient.

Anthony got a special offer at work this week. he has been working with his boss to be able to go to night crew when i graduate so he can go to school during the day. he loves his job and refuses to give it up to go to school. his boss thought maybe he should drive for the day crew of western water works so he has expierence inthe wearhouse as well as driving a truck. this is a big break for us becuase it could allow us to have health insurance for both of us instead of just anthony. anthony is very excited to be considered for this diving job since he originally had asked for night crew. we feel so blessed and like the lord is watching over us each and every day provided in his time all the things we need to start a foundation for our family. if all goes well he will start his new position before the end of the year!

The OC fair with friends

watched a glass blowing demonstration with narration...one of my favorite things to watch i think its so neat

its always important to go to the fair with good friends!

Sub acute care-Clinicals

Okay, today was our first real day in a sub-acute facility. we were there last week but Monday was orientation and Tuesday...well Tuesday was quite the whirl wind so it was nice to get things started. we were each given two patients to research meds and to administer those medications to the patient. this sounds like an easy task but let me assure you it is not! first you go through all the medications the patient has to take and find the meds for the morning. we were administering the 9AM meds. then you have to research each drug both names for it, what it does, how it does it, and what the side effects of that drug can potentially be. then you have like 10 minuets to memorize all that information...did i mention that each patient has like 15 drugs! and when the teacher grills you on it you better know the answer. then you have to pass the med with in the window of time which is one hour before and one hour after the original time of the med. needless to say i was completely overwhelmed and stressed out! hopefully it will get easier as time goes on!

Nursing School Level One

medications must be poured at eye level to be accurate...which at times can make you cross eyed

we start passing meds in a week I'm so nervous there's so much to know

drawing up heparin...must be very accurate (notice I'm not even looking at the syringe)

tied down... wasn't so bad

Level one of nursing school is almost over. in this level was fundamentals, geriatric nursing which i got the highest grade in the class on, nutrition, and pharmacology. it ends on the 30th of July with the final for pharmacology and a skills testing where we have to prove we can do a head to toe assessment on a person, insert a catheter using sterile technique, and check a persons blood glucose level competently. wish me luck. by the way for those who read this i passed my pharmacology practicum about 30 seconds after it began! Level two is medical surgical nursing. we start with integument system, respiratory system, and musculoskeletal system.
