Nursing School Level Three

I Haven't updated my blog in a while but this just seemed necessary. We (meaning my nursing class) have just begun our third term we started it the last week in November. the classes got off to a start with a bang first subject to tackle was genitourinary. really didn't seem like a hard subject and i have to admit it really wasn't everything was pretty straight forward. if i hadn't had the disease or condition myself i knew someone who had. our final for that class was the last day before Christmas break. i did okay I'm proud of it and passed the entire Class with an A so in all honesty that's all that really mattered to me. we started the endocrine system or the hormone system. this subject is not going well. Its whooping my butt to say the least. Everyone in the class failed the 1st midterm and i have to admit i got that test and didn't have a clue about even one answer on that test. when we got back from Christmas break i was reassigned to Sunset Manor as my clinical site. my heart sunk when i found this out mostly because this site scares the crap out of me. everyone in the facility has a trach or a breathing tube coming out of their throat and connected to a ventilator machine which is basically breathing for them. They don't interact with you and most of them are vegetables that their life is sustained by medication and their breathing machine. i worked hard to make this work to gain something from it. so i volunteered to pass medication and take care of one patient. it was worth it the teacher was so patient with me as i somewhat struggled to pass my medication the right way. she spent a whole hour working with me and helping me to feel comfortable (what a blessing). needless to say the week as far as clinical's went well. we began pediatrics on Wednesday, it was okay but i have to admit i was so board i don't know why just the history is not really my thing i want to know how to make it all better. Needless to say Wednesday morning didn't really go all that well. level three continues until we graduate. We still have finals pending for Endocrine, Pediatrics, OB, Mental Health, and Leadership. wish me luck!!
