#98 Make "Food Art" on your plate

Made some "food art" for Madison's lunch one day... she was pretty excited to have a "flower" on her plate.

#21 Conduct an expirament

We did a sink and float experiment. I tried to explain how it works when something sinks or floats and what the difference is. Than before I let Madison throw in each object i asked her to tell me if she thought it was going to sink or float. She got very few right but had lots of fun picking them up and trying it all over again.

#20 Wash the car or cat/dog

I don't normally let Madison wash my car for this one because its just much more fun for her to wash her car.

 Scrubbing it to make lots of bubbles

 This is the first year that she has been strong enough to squeeze the nozzle herself

 And of course brother brought her a bucket to help rinse off the car.

#40 Read an age appropriate book

Daddy reading to madison before she goes to bed...she looks forward to this time all day long!

#41 Write a letter to someone

my sister needed to go up to San Fransisco to watch my cousin for 2 weeks so it was the perfect time for madison to write her auntie a letter.

Madison was very excited to get to write her auntie a letter!

15 Months and getting big too fast

 This boy is growing soooo fast and he gets to be more and more fun all the time. He has the sweetest little personality. Here's some of the skills he has gained in the last 3 months.

His language skills are sooo good its amazing to me after having his sister who never talked until after she was 2. He can say: No, Hi, Mama, Dada, night night, thank you, hello, cookie, nana (banana), and baba (for drink). He sings old McDonald but usually only joins in at the animal sounds for cow and cat and the EIEIO part.

His gross motor skills are improving almost daily he can walk and he stands for short periods of time really well. He has started to try and run but its more like a wide leg trot and isnt fast at all but is extremely funny.

His fine motor skills are still a pretty big problem he's basically not using them at all but we will keep working on them to improve. he is using crayons and scribbling but its multiple lines all as part of one motion.

His cognitive ability is amazing! he can pick up anything quick and is willing to try anything new or that his sister does. he taught himself to open the front door, something i'm not happy about, if its unlocked and if that door comes open he is a goner!

He loves to help around the house. For example if he sees you throw something away he will gladly pitch in and help pick up the mess and put it in the trash. He helps clean up the playroom when prompted by either myself or Anthony.


he is getting pickier about food but some of his favorites are Avocado, yogurt, pasta of just about any kind, and he eats alot of fruit. a lunch or meal typically includes 2 types of fruits, a vegetable, sometimes a meat but he usually doesnt eat it well, and he rarely eats a grain.

He is such a joy to have around the house, he constantly amazes us and is always making us laugh.

#28 Visit Krispy Kreme and watch them make Donuts

Today we literally had nothing to do ... mommy had no chores that needed to be done, and I didn't have to go anywhere or be anywhere  for the whole day soooo we decided to take a quick morning trip with the kids for a fun morning snack. I think we eat doughnuts probably 3 times a year so when we go get one its a pretty big deal. So I decided for snack this morning we were going to go get krispy kream doughnuts and watch them make doughnuts. Madison was soo talkative and was telling me all about the doughnuts and asking what they were doing. Caleb watched and watched and totally loved it. The best part was obviously that we got to have doughnuts for snack!

 I see you mama!

#76 Play on a slip and slide or water slide

 we had friends over for a fun morning of slip and slide craziness. the kids had a ball except caleb who spent most of his time eating half of a watermelon.

 While the kids were playing on the slip n slide the sprinklers came on too so there was lots of water fun going on.

Since the movie theater is right across from the market we hit a double whammy and did 2 things at once.

the nasty smell in this place is beyond amazingly gross!

For FHE one night we made our stepping stone and I was worried how it was going to go but the kids did a good job and Madison even helped us put the glow in the dark stones in the stepping stone.

#53 Do a chore from a church or scout leader

Since Madison is in primary now I wanted her to do soemthing that would be more of a way to give back instead of just doing something that wouldn't necessarily be very helpful and that she would be able to connect with. So we asked our Primary president if there was something Madison and I could do to help and she asked us to help set up the primary room for the kids on Sunday.

Caleb and Daddy even went around and put up the signs for each room where all the kids go to class. After we helped out I explained to Madison the purpose of service how it is important to our eternal salvation.

#91 make stained glass

We did both versions of stained glass: the kids version where the kids painted with clear drying paint and a premade version of the scene thats actually plastic and the adult version where you have to cut the glass and then sauder it together. both came out pretty good but the kid version was way more fun for all of us than the adult version.
