Madison's 3rd brithday party

Madison is really into Minnie mouse and so this year since she shows a preference and enjoyed a specific character I used that to create her party.

Every year I put together one special element to her party this year I decided to do a cupcake bar! I thought it would be super fun for the kids but the adults totally got into it too!

3 different cupcake flavors. Vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry
2 different kids of fillings. white chocolate cream and raspberry

3 frostings, pink vanilla, white almond, and chocolate butter cream
all handmade by me (it was my first time! and yes i'm proud)

I did 6 different toppings: crushed oreo's, gummy worms, white chocoalte chips
mini m&m's, red sugar sprinkles, and Jimmy sprinkles

I also ordered these cute pink and white boxes for them to take an extra cupcake home in!

we had tons of friends come and family come and celebrate with us.

She's really good and blowing out those candles

We got a jumper for the kids and it was the highlight of the day

opening presents with daddy was not a big hit this year it took some coaxing to get her to open them

an awesome comforter "minnie mouse" blanket Madison's bestie's mom made her

Caleb slept through most of the party he made it for the last 30 minutes.
he's hanging with Anthony great grandma right here.

Madison's actual Birthday

Madison is old enough now we decided to make her birthday super special because i'm hoping with pictures she might remember. So to start the day off me and Anthony put 36 purple balloons (one for each month she's been alive) and boy was this a challenge. that night she decided not to go to bed before 10pm and then several times while Anthony and I were putting the balloons in her room she suddenly sat up and then went right back to sleep. We were very entertained and it was hard to stay quiet and not laugh our pants off.

She was pretty surprised when she woke up in the morning and we thought it was super fun to watch the reaction when she got up.

Then for breakfast I made her birthday cake pancakes! then I put a candle in it and let her blow it out.
here's the recipe if you want it:

Birthday Pancakes
makes about 12 pancakes
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2/3 cup funfetti cake mix
1 tablespoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-2 cups milk
assorted sprinkles
Combine flour, cake mix, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl and mix. Add 1 cup of milk, egg and vanilla extract and stir until smooth. You want the batter to look like regular pancake batter; not too thin, not too thick. This will vary greatly on the brand of cake mix you use. Start with 1 cup of milk and add more if needed. I suggest a small taste test as well to see if the pancakes are flavored enough.
Preheat a skillet on medium heat (I use an electric grilled and turn it to 250 degrees). Fold desired amount of sprinkles into batter. Pour batter in 1/4 cup measurements onto skillet and let cook until bubbles form on top, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for 1 minute more. Serve with vanilla glaze.

Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tablespoon milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
assorted sprinkles
Mix milk, extract and powdered sugar until glaze forms. You may need to add a little more sugar or water/milk to reach desired consistency. Mix into glaze and drizzle on pancakes.

Madison still had therapy one last time so thats what we did for the rest of the day...i went and grabbed her a few presents to open on her actual birthday from mommy, daddy, and caleb and we just hung out at home until it was time for dinner.
